UPDATE: The Florida Gators have just unveiled their championship rings for the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball title, marking a historic moment after their thrilling victory over top-ranked Houston with a final score of 65-63.
In a ceremony that took place earlier today, the spotlight was on Will Richard, who played a pivotal role in the championship game, scoring 18 points and grabbing 8 rebounds. Richard, now a guard for the Golden State Warriors, received his ring ahead of a film session, reflecting the ongoing connection between the program and its former stars.
This championship jewelry is more than just a symbol of victory; it showcases the Gators’ remarkable 36 wins during the season, including their comeback from a 12-point deficit in the final game. The design features twelve stones that form the national championship trophy, with Florida’s signature “Gators” lettering prominently displayed in blue.
The left side of the ring highlights the national championship logo, adorned with three diamonds representing Florida’s previous titles in 2006 and 2007. The score of the championship game is inscribed beneath this logo, encapsulating the thrilling conclusion of their journey to glory.
Inside the ring, the Gators proudly display their motto, “We all can go,” alongside the SEC championship trophy, which is embellished with five stones representing the program’s conference titles. The memorable score of their 86-77 victory over then-No. 8 Tennessee is also etched into the design.
The journey to the title is visually marked inside the ring, displaying the scores and opponents faced throughout the playoffs. Six orange stones represent Florida’s six Final Four appearances, while three blue stones honor their national championships. Surrounding these elements, thirty-six stones symbolize each win from the 2024-25 season.
A gold Fighting Gator logo is featured on the inside, just above the depiction of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center, where the Gators play their home games. This meticulous design reflects not only the team’s triumphs but also their rich history and traditions.
Gators associate head coach Korey McCray has made it a priority to ensure that former players, currently in the NBA, receive their rings personally. Utah Jazz guard Walter Clayton Jr. received his ring just before facing the Los Angeles Lakers, expressing gratitude for his time at Florida and its impact on his career.
“Obviously, my time at Florida helped me get to where I am now,” Clayton stated as he accepted his ring.
In a surprise presentation, Toronto Raptors guard Alijah Martin received his ring from Florida assistant coach Taurean Green, while head coach Todd Golden and associate head coach Carlin Hartman honored Richard with his championship ring. Richard echoed the sentiment of ambition, stating, “Won one of these in college — looking forward to winning one here.”
This exciting moment not only brings closure to an incredible season but also reignites the Gators’ competitive spirit as they aim for future successes. Fans and players alike are eager to share the pride of this achievement as the team looks to build on this momentum.
