UPDATE: A Fishtown woman has been joyfully reunited with her lost engagement ring after it was discovered at a pawn shop, just weeks before her wedding. Casey Corradin lost her unique black diamond ring on February 19, and the emotional rollercoaster of searching for it has come to a thrilling end.
The ring, a symbol of her upcoming marriage, vanished while Corradin was at a car wash in Brandywine Hundred, Delaware. After stepping out briefly, she returned to find that her beloved ring was missing from her cup holder. “I was like, my ring’s missing, my ring’s missing,” she recalled, devastated as she realized it was the only one unaccounted for among three rings in the holder.
Despite thorough searches and police involvement, including a review of surveillance footage, her hopes waned as the car wash staff found no evidence of theft. “I blamed myself so much because had I not taken my ring off, I could have prevented all of this,” Corradin expressed, overwhelmed with guilt.
In a desperate bid to recover her cherished ring, Corradin took to TikTok to share her story, while her father, Paul Corradin, tirelessly visited local pawn shops, handing out flyers featuring a description of the ring. His determination was fueled by the fear that it might end up on someone else’s finger.
The breakthrough came on Monday, when Antonio Farrace, owner of Levy’s Jewelers in Wilmington, recognized the ring from the flyers. “I just noticed it was the exact ring with the description and picture that was on it,” Farrace stated. Following store policy, he promptly contacted the police, who arrived to investigate.
The man who brought in the ring claimed he found it in the trash and stayed at the shop to assist law enforcement. “The person who brought it in was very helpful,” Farrace noted, reflecting on the cooperation that led to the ring’s recovery.
Corradin’s emotional relief is palpable. “I’m never taking this ring off again,” she declared, viewing its return as a profound lesson in resilience and hope. “No matter what, we’re always going to be able to find our way back because this was a zero percent chance,” she added, emphasizing the miraculous nature of the reunion.
