Erie County Approves Budget; Sean Ryan’s Mayoral Inauguration Set

UPDATE: The Erie County Legislature has just approved the amended 2026 county budget with a significant vote of 7 to 4. County Executive Mark Poloncarz proposed a robust $2.1 billion budget that includes a property tax reduction, decreasing from $3.29 per thousand dollars of assessed value to $3.09. This pivotal decision marks a crucial step in shaping the county’s financial future.

In a separate development, Buffalo Mayor-elect Sean Ryan is set to be inaugurated at the iconic Kleinhans Music Hall on New Year’s Day at noon.
