Encounter Church in Great Bend is set to host its annual Candy Blast on April 4, inviting families from the local community and beyond to join in the festivities. The event will kick off indoors at noon, featuring an hour filled with games, music, and prize giveaways designed for children of all ages. Parents and guardians are encouraged to register their children, ensuring they can participate in the exciting prize drawings during the indoor activities.
At 1 p.m., the celebration moves outdoors to the west end of the church property located at 601 S. Patton Road. Children will line up by age group to witness an exhilarating candy launch, where thousands of pieces will be propelled from giant cannons. This year, kids in sixth grade and younger will have the opportunity to gather candy to take home, with sponsors ensuring that no child leaves empty-handed.
Megan Peterson, the children’s pastor at Encounter Church, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “This is a free event for the whole family. Grab the kids, invite your friends, and kick off Easter weekend with the sweetest event of the year! With tons of candy, games, and prizes, it’s a day your family won’t want to miss.”
The Candy Blast promises not only fun but also a strong sense of community. Families can expect to enjoy a safe and joyful environment where children can engage in various activities and make lasting memories.
