Officials from the Hualapai Nation requested assistance from the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office to recover the man’s body. According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, the victim slipped and fell over the edge, landing on a scree pile—a collection of loose rock fragments at the base of the cliff.
The Hualapai Tribal Police Department, along with the Hualapai Nation Fire Department and Grand Canyon West Security, joined efforts to locate and retrieve the deceased, whose identity has not yet been disclosed.
