Cynthia Erivo Stuns in Gravity-Defying Crop Top at “Wicked” Premiere

UPDATE: The world premiere of “Wicked: For Good” took place Tuesday in São Paulo, Brazil, and Cynthia Erivo stole the spotlight in a stunning, gravity-defying crop top designed by Jean Paul Gaultier. The British actress, 38, showcased her toned midriff in a custom piece that combines high fashion with theatrical flair, generating buzz across social media.

Erivo’s daring ensemble featured a sculptural turtleneck crop top that appeared to float over her abs, paired with a dramatic ruffled maxi skirt. The statement belt reading “Junior” highlighted the new creative direction from French luxury house’s Duran Lantink. Her stylist, Jason Bolden, shared the look on Instagram, saying, “We Back Baby 😎 thanks @jeanpaulgaultier for the custom armor 👌🏾WICKED FOR GOOD 🥰.”

Accompanying her outfit, Erivo adorned herself with an array of sparkling jewelry from David Webb, including multiple crystal and diamond rings and a chunky crystal bracelet. She completed her striking look with ultra-long acrylic nails featuring a delicate floral design by Shea Osei. Erivo celebrated the premiere with enthusiasm, posting, “Oi Brazil 💚🧹 Está acontecendo!” (“Hi Brazil 💚🧹 It’s happening!”) on her social media.

Notably, Erivo was joined on the red carpet by co-star Jonathan Bailey and director Jon M. Chu. However, co-star Ariana Grande was unable to attend due to flight maintenance issues. Grande expressed her disappointment in an emotional Instagram Story, stating, “I am so heartbroken that I’m unable to be there with you all. We sincerely tried everything we could and I apologize from the bottom of my heart.”

The anticipation for “Wicked: For Good” continues to build as it gears up for its theatrical release on November 21. Following the premiere in Brazil, the film is set to embark on a global tour with upcoming stops in Paris, London, Singapore, and New York City later this month.

Fans and fashion enthusiasts alike are eagerly awaiting the next stunning looks from the film’s stars. If the press tour thus far is any indication, the world can expect even more jaw-dropping fashion moments as “Wicked: For Good” takes its place on the global stage. Stay tuned for further updates as excitement builds around this highly anticipated sequel!
