Cynthia Erivo Dazzles in Cutout Gown at ‘Wicked’ Premiere in Singapore

Cynthia Erivo turned heads at the Singapore premiere of “Wicked: For Good” on November 16, 2023, showcasing her stunning tattoos in a dramatic black gown by Vivienne Westwood Couture. The gown featured a sheer cutout panel that revealed a beautiful cluster of flower tattoos on her hip, captivating fans and attendees alike.

The strapless corset design, intricately embroidered with black roses, was paired with a matching choker and a striking array of Tiffany & Co. earrings. Notably, the Westwood design team included a clever homage to Erivo’s character, Elphaba, stitching a black witch’s hat inside the corset, further enhancing the gown’s connection to the beloved character.

Earlier this month, at the film’s premiere in Brazil, the 38-year-old actress displayed a trio of heart tattoos on her sternum, accentuated by a custom Jean Paul Gaultier crop top designed by Duran Lantink. Erivo and co-star Ariana Grande are known for their impressive ink collections, including matching tattoos on their palms that read “For Good,” symbolizing their bond through the film’s journey.

As the promotional tour for “Wicked: For Good” continues, Erivo has been collaborating with stylist Jason Bolden to craft a refined, darker aesthetic, moving away from the vibrant Elphaba green of the first film’s press tour. This shift to all-black ensembles signifies a notable evolution in her character’s portrayal and adds sophistication to the promotional appearances.

“I think fashion is another form of art and expression,” Erivo stated in a recent interview with GQ UK. “If you don’t use it well, it’s wasted. I like being able to express myself through the clothes I wear, through the jewellery I wear. I actually think it’s another inward expression turned outwards.” Her approach to fashion emphasizes individuality and creativity, resonating with fans who admire her bold style choices.

The press tour for “Wicked: For Good” is set to culminate with a final stop in New York City on November 17, 2023, just days before the film’s much-anticipated wide release on November 21, 2023. As excitement builds, fans are eagerly awaiting the opportunity to see Erivo and Grande bring their characters to life on the big screen.

Stay tuned for further updates as the promotional events unfold, and don’t miss the chance to witness this iconic film that promises to captivate audiences worldwide.
