UPDATE: Costco has just announced an urgent recall of two popular salads due to potential plastic contamination, impacting customers across the United States. The items involved are the Kirkland Signature Caesar Salad and the Chicken Sandwich with Caesar Salad, both sold in select locations.
Customers who purchased these salads with a Sell By Date ranging from October 17 to November 9, 2025, are advised to stop consumption immediately. The recall was initiated by Costco and Ventura Foods, following the discovery of “plastic foreign material” in the dressing of both products.
According to the official notice issued on November 7, 2025, patrons should return the affected items to their local Costco for a full refund. While specific store locations have not been disclosed, the salads have been pulled from select stores in the Midwest, Northeast, and Southeast regions of the U.S.
Earlier this month, Costco faced another recall involving nearly one million bottles of wine that shattered unexpectedly. This latest incident marks yet another instance of food safety concerns, as plastic contamination has plagued various products this year.
Costco customers are urged to check their purchases and take immediate action, as consuming the contaminated salads could pose health risks.
