The Scott County Historical Society is set to host its annual Ice Cream Social on July 15, 2024, from 16:00 to 19:30 at the Historic Summit Church in Davenport, Iowa. This cherished event continues a longstanding tradition where community members gather to enjoy summer treats and connect with neighbors. Attendees can indulge in a variety of homemade desserts complemented by generous servings of ice cream, along with a selection of savory options including Sloppy Joe sandwiches, grilled pork sandwiches, hot dogs, grilled sweet corn, baked beans, coleslaw, macaroni salad, and chips.
The ice cream social not only offers a delightful way to beat the summer heat but also serves as a tribute to farm families, fostering connections among local farmers and residents. While the event is free to attend, donations are appreciated to support the preservation of Historic Summit Church, located at 21980 210th Avenue.
