Coldplay Kiss-Cam Controversy: Husband Confirms Separation

BREAKING: The husband of the woman caught in a viral kiss with her boss during a Coldplay concert has revealed they were already separated. Kristin Cabot was filmed embracing Andy Byron, CEO of Astronomer, on the venue’s Jumbotron in July 2023, just as they realized the moment was being broadcast to thousands.

In a surprising turn of events, Andrew Cabot disclosed that he and Kristin had been “amicably separated” for weeks before the concert incident. As the fallout from the kiss continues, both Kristin and Byron have since departed from their roles at the tech start-up amidst the controversy.

Kristin, who served as the chief people officer at Astronomer, filed for divorce last month. “Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening,” a spokeswoman told PEOPLE magazine. This statement aims to put an end to rampant speculation surrounding the incident.

The kiss, which sparked widespread discussions online, drew a humorous comment from Chris Martin, Coldplay’s lead singer. He quipped, “Either they’re having an affair, or they are just very shy,” adding to the media frenzy that has followed since.

The public’s reaction has been mixed, with many expressing sympathy for Andrew, who hopes the divorce filing will provide “respectful closure” for his family and grant them the privacy they have long valued.

As this story develops, it serves as a reminder of the complexities of personal relationships under the public eye. The implications for both Kristin and Andy extend beyond their professional lives, raising questions about the impact of public scrutiny on private matters.

Stay tuned for further updates on this evolving story as it continues to gain traction.
