Paul J. Tremblay, aged 77, passed away on February 21, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer. A resident of New Boston, New Hampshire, Tremblay was previously a longtime resident of Lowell. He was widely regarded as a loving husband to the late Marie Anne C. (Poirier) Tremblay, with whom he shared over 49 years of marriage.
Born on May 23, 1948, in Lowell, Tremblay was the son of the late Gerard J. Tremblay and Henriette M. (Bergeron) Tremblay. He received his education within the Lowell school system and later graduated as Salutatorian from Saint Joseph Seminary in Bucksport, Maine, in June 1966. Following his education, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1973, attaining the rank of Storekeeper Third Class aboard the USS Lowry DD770.
Tremblay dedicated a significant part of his career to public service, working for the City of Lowell in various capacities, including roles in Animal Control, Ashes and Waste, and the Street Department. He concluded his career at the Lowell Water Works.
In his personal life, Tremblay enjoyed a range of activities. He loved watching movies and television, spending time with family and friends, dining out, and taking trips to York Beach, Maine. He also had a special interest in finding gluten-free treats for his sister.
He is survived by two sons, John C. (Tremblay) Dupre and his husband Matthew Dupre of Virginia, and Marc R. Tremblay and his wife Melissa Tremblay of New Boston, NH. Tremblay leaves behind three grandchildren, Kaden, Bryce, and Minnie; as well as three brothers: Roger Tremblay of Salem, Richard Tremblay and his wife Mary of Nashua, and Robert Tremblay and his partner Melissa O’Brien of Gray, Maine. He is also survived by his sister Denise Gravelle of Hudson and an aunt, Solange Paquet of Lowell. He was predeceased by his siblings Jeannine Tremblay, Raymond Tremblay, and Gerard Tremblay Jr..
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Committal Service on March 2, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
