UPDATE: Belinda, the renowned Mexican artist, passionately declares her unwavering support for the Latino community during a revealing interview with Billboard Español on a scorching summer afternoon in New York City. As she sipped her iced matcha at The Whitby Bar and Restaurant, she opened up about her highly anticipated album Indómita and the ongoing struggles faced by Latinos in the U.S.
With a bold leap into the subgenre of “corridos coquette,” Belinda’s first album in over a decade signifies a transformative moment in her career. “Someone once told me I would never be able to sing this kind of music because it was for men,” she shares, reflecting on her journey. “But my success has proven otherwise.”
In 2025, Belinda is making waves with her new album, featuring standout tracks like “La Cuadrada,” “300 Noches,” and “Mirada Feliz.” Collaborations with artists such as Tito Double P and Nathanael Cano have surged organically, showcasing her versatility. “I showed Nata ‘300 Noches’ on FaceTime, and I was so nervous,” she recalls. “But the next day, he recorded it. It was amazing.”
Belinda’s deep connection to her music fuels her advocacy for the Latino community. “I think Latinos contribute so much to the U.S.,” she states emphatically. “Every time I go to a restaurant, I see how hard they work, how dedicated they are. I have so much respect for them.” She adds, “This country wouldn’t be the same without Latinos. I’ll defend them until my last day.”
The impact of Indómita is already being felt. The track “300 Noches” debuted at No. 182 on the Billboard Global 200 and climbed to No. 41 on the Hot Latin Songs chart. The album itself reached No. 12 on the Top Latin Pop Albums chart, solidifying Belinda’s place as a leading voice in music. Her innovative spirit earned her the prestigious Evolution Award at the 2025 Billboard Mujeres Latinas en la Música.
In her interview, Belinda also playfully reveals her French skills and shares a quirky thought: if she were a dessert, she would be crème brûlée.
As her career continues to evolve, Belinda remains a beacon of pride for the Latino community, emphasizing that creativity knows no bounds. The full interview can be viewed in the video “Saliendo Con Belinda” above.
