Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons Join Urgent Geopolitical Thriller ‘Embassy’

BREAKING: Actors Anna Kendrick and J.K. Simmons are set to star in the highly anticipated geopolitical action series Embassy, confirmed just hours ago at the MIPCOM TV conference in Cannes. This six-part thriller promises to captivate audiences with its intense plot and star-studded cast.

In Embassy, Kendrick takes on the role of Layla, a determined American diplomat at the U.S. Embassy in London. The gripping narrative unfolds as the embassy comes under siege from armed mercenaries. Layla is ordered by Ambassador Simmons to extract a high-value asset trapped inside the compound, leading her to team up with her ex, a British SAS soldier. As the plot thickens, Layla discovers evidence of a larger conspiracy at play, raising the stakes dramatically.

Production company AGC Television, alongside Ascendant Fox and Turbine Studios, is spearheading the project, which was created and written by Rom Lotan. The series will be directed by John Strickland, known for acclaimed works such as Bodyguard and Line of Duty. These industry heavyweights will executive produce alongside a team of notable producers, ensuring high-quality storytelling.

Filming for Embassy is scheduled to commence in February 2026, with locations including both London and Cologne. The series is expected to draw significant attention from international buyers at the MIPCOM conference, which runs through next week.

Kendrick is also slated to star in the upcoming film Babies alongside Seth Rogen, starting production in Los Angeles this November. Additionally, she will feature in an untitled drama directed by Chris Rock, alongside Adam Driver and Daniel Kaluuya. Meanwhile, Simmons, fresh off his role in The Accountant 2, is busy with multiple projects, including a collaboration with Brad Pitt in Heart of the Beast and a role in a Cold War political drama titled Reykjavik.

This announcement has generated buzz across social media platforms, with fans eager to see how Kendrick and Simmons will bring this thrilling narrative to life. As the plot develops and filming begins, all eyes will be on Embassy as it prepares to make its mark in the world of action thrillers.

Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting project as it unfolds!
