UPDATE: In a thrilling development for basketball fans, Angel Reese has officially rejoined the Unrivaled 3×3 league with a mid-season deal announced just this morning. This exciting news comes as Reese is set to return to her former team, Rose BC, on February 20, 2026.
The news comes after a series of hints dropped by Reese on her podcast, “Unapologetically Angel,” where she expressed her desire to return to the league. During a recent episode featuring her former coach, Teresa Weatherspoon, Reese teased fans, saying, “Maybe you might see me, maybe you might don’t.” Now, basketball enthusiasts won’t have to wait long to see her back in action.
Currently, Rose BC sits in fifth place with a record of 5-6, with the top six teams qualifying for the playoffs. The addition of Reese could be just what the team needs to boost their performance as playoffs approach on February 28, culminating in a championship game set for March 4. Returning players Chelsea Gray and Kahleah Copper lead the team in scoring, and Reese’s presence could significantly elevate their game.
The league has faced challenges this season, with key players like Sabrina Ionescu, Napheesa Collier, and Satou Sabally sidelined due to injuries. Despite recently breaking attendance records for women’s pro basketball during a tour stop in Philadelphia, TV ratings have struggled. The return of a star like Reese is a strategic move to reignite interest and attendance in the league.
Weatherspoon emphasized the importance of entertaining fans, stating, “You entertain people, that’s why they get their butts in the seats to come and watch you.” Reese’s return is poised to generate the much-needed buzz around the league, especially with the playoffs just around the corner.
Reese has had a busy offseason, juggling multiple commitments including podcasting, fashion ventures, and acting roles, notably a recent appearance in the Netflix series “The Hunting Wives.” She also participated in a training camp for Team USA in December, as the roster for the 2026 FIBA World Cup takes shape. However, her passion for the game remains strong, and she expressed her eagerness to develop further in Unrivaled: “I miss the development. I can try stuff, I can do whatever, and I can take it and implement it to the W.”
In Unrivaled’s inaugural season, Reese made headlines by winning the Defensive Player of the Year award while helping Rose BC clinch the championship. With her back on the court, fans are eagerly anticipating what this mid-season addition means for the future of both the team and the league.
Stay tuned for more updates as Reese gears up to make her impact felt once again in the Unrivaled league.
