UPDATE: A tragic crash in Cass County has left at least one person dead following a collision on Highway 210. The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed that the incident occurred at 8:56 PM on February 17, 2024, in Sylvan Township, east of Pillager.
According to authorities, a 2014 Ford Expedition was turning left onto West Sylvan Drive Southwest when it collided with a westbound 2017 Kia Forte at the intersection. The State Patrol’s preliminary report indicates that the fatal crash involved an unbelted and unrestrained occupant.
The driver of the Kia, a 21-year-old man from Browerville, and his passenger, a 19-year-old woman from Richmond, have not yet been identified, and their condition remains unknown. The driver of the Ford, Travis Leigh Grossman, 40, along with his two young passengers, Eli Jerome Grossman, 10, and Garrett Leigh Grossman, 12, all from Pillager, fortunately suffered no injuries.
Authorities reported that the road conditions were wet at the time of the crash, contributing to the severity of the incident. The Pillager Fire Department, North Memorial Health Ambulance, and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office were all present at the scene to assist.
