Samsung Develops Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra to Compete with Apple Watch Ultra 3

Samsung is developing a new smartwatch, potentially named the Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra, which is expected to launch in July or August 2026. This device aims to succeed the original Galaxy Watch Ultra and will compete directly with the anticipated Apple Watch Ultra 3.

According to a report from GalaxyClub, Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch may be positioned as the successor to the Galaxy Watch Ultra. The company has not disclosed many details about the device yet, but it is anticipated to integrate advancements from its predecessor. If the release aligns with the timeline, it could debut alongside Samsung’s new line of foldable smartphones.

As interest builds around the Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra, it is likely to inherit popular features from the original model, including a larger display, enhanced battery life, premium titanium casing, and cellular connectivity. More importantly, industry insiders speculate that Samsung will upgrade the device with a new and more efficient chipset that may significantly improve performance.

The significance of this launch extends beyond technical specifications. For consumers interested in rugged smartwatches, waiting for the Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra could be a strategic choice. The device is expected to offer a blend of functionality, including ample storage, robust performance, and extended battery life, potentially blurring the lines between traditional smartwatches and standalone devices.

Samsung is also anticipated to introduce a new version of Wear OS alongside the Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra, which would enhance user experience with innovative features and improved functionality. This update could further establish Samsung’s position in the competitive smartwatch market.

Looking ahead, the launch timeline for the Galaxy Watch 9 Ultra is still a few months away, and more details are likely to emerge as the release date approaches. In parallel, Samsung is preparing to unveil its Galaxy S26 series in January 2026, which will include three models: Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

As the technology landscape evolves, the competition between Samsung and Apple in the smartwatch sector continues to heat up, making the upcoming releases critical for both companies.
