Robotics and AI Bootcamp Ignites Young Innovators in Riyadh

A significant initiative focused on robotics and artificial intelligence concluded in Riyadh, engaging students from Grades 1 to 12 across multiple schools. The Robotics & AI Bootcamp took place on December 30 and 31, 2025, at Al Yasmin International School, culminating in a Hackathon Challenge on January 1, 2026. This program marked a pivotal moment for educational technology in the region, aiming to equip young learners with essential skills for a rapidly evolving world.

Under the leadership of Dr. Abdul Matheen, the bootcamp attracted a diverse group of students, showcasing a commitment to inclusivity and high standards in education. This collaborative effort between Meritus AI from India and Target Global Academy in Riyadh aligns with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, focusing on innovation and digital skills development.

During the three-day event, students engaged in immersive learning experiences that covered hardware-software integration, coding with MIT App Inventor, machine learning, and computer vision. Through hands-on activities, participants built robots, programmed intelligent behaviors, and explored real-world AI applications. Special learning modules on image recognition, speech processing, and gesture control facilitated connections between classroom concepts and practical applications.

The Hackathon Challenge served as a highlight, where student teams leveraged the concepts learned throughout the bootcamp to design and present innovative solutions. This competitive yet collaborative environment fostered critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork, providing a glimpse into how technology can address real-life challenges.

The program’s organizers emphasized their shared vision of making world-class AI and STEM education accessible to every child, regardless of background. By offering this initiative free of charge, both Meritus AI and Target Global Academy demonstrated a commitment to democratizing advanced technology education. This approach resonates with Saudi Arabia’s broader educational goals and aims to inspire the next generation of innovators.

Participants, including students, parents, and educators, expressed strong appreciation for the program’s international-standard curriculum and its engaging delivery. Feedback highlighted increased confidence and enthusiasm among students, many of whom are now considering careers in technology and innovation.

With its successful implementation, the bootcamp sets the stage for the development of long-term academic programs, innovation labs, and advanced AI pathways across Saudi Arabia. The initiative promises to nurture future leaders in technology, ensuring a lasting impact on the region’s educational landscape.

As Meritus AI and Target Global Academy continue to expand their presence, the focus remains on fostering a generation ready to thrive in an increasingly digital world. The outcomes of this bootcamp signal a proactive step towards integrating robotics and AI education into the fabric of Saudi Arabia’s academic offerings.
