RLS Logistics Expands Cold Storage in Delanco to Meet Rising Demand

Delanco, Nj Warehouse Expansion

RLS Logistics has announced the expansion of its cold storage warehouse in Delanco, New Jersey, set to become operational later this month. This significant development adds over 6,750,000 cubic feet of temperature-controlled space, enhancing the company’s capacity to meet the increasing demand from clients across the Northeast corridor. With the new facilities, RLS Logistics aims to solidify its role as a key partner for frozen and refrigerated food manufacturers, importers, and retailers.

According to Russell Leo, CEO of RLS Logistics, the expansion reflects the company’s commitment to customer growth and operational excellence. “As a family-owned business for more than 57 years, we’ve built RLS on the foundation of personal relationships, unmatched service, and hard work. This expansion is a testament to our customers’ growth and to the commitment of our teams that service them,” Leo stated. He expressed enthusiasm about bringing increased capacity and efficiency to the Delanco location.

Strategic Enhancements and Regional Impact

The expansion project will introduce advanced refrigeration systems, approximately 8,000 new pallet positions, and high-density racking, thereby improving throughput. These enhancements will significantly boost RLS’s capability to handle large-scale distribution and case-picking operations. The strategic location of Delanco, in close proximity to the Port of Philadelphia and major Northeast markets such as New York and Baltimore, positions it as a prime hub for both regional and national distribution.

Michael Fischer, VP of Operations for Cold Storage, emphasized the operational focus of the new facility. “Every square foot of this facility was designed with operational excellence in mind. We’re excited to bring this project to life and to continue delivering best-in-class service as we service our growing customer base,” Fischer noted.

Community Investments and Future Prospects

The expansion is also expected to create new job opportunities in Burlington County, aligning with RLS Logistics’s commitment to community investment and economic development. As a family-owned, third-party logistics provider, RLS specializes in value-added cold chain solutions, including less-than-truckload (LTL) and full-truckload (FTL) transportation, cold storage warehousing, and direct-to-consumer fulfillment.

Founded in 1968, RLS Logistics has been managed by the Leo family for over 55 years. The company has established itself as a leading integrated cold chain third-party logistics provider, and the Delanco warehouse expansion is a crucial element of its broader growth strategy aimed at adapting to the evolving needs of the food and beverage industry.
