Apple Rumored to Introduce ‘Liquid Glass’ Color for iPhone 17 Pro

Speculation surrounding the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro has intensified following a rumor from a Chinese leaker suggesting a distinct color variant tied to the new iOS 26 design. The leaker, known as Instant Digital, indicated that Apple may introduce a “special” color that reflects the “Liquid Glass” aesthetic of the forthcoming software update.

According to the leak, the iPhone 17 Pro could feature a white base color that changes appearance depending on lighting conditions. This dynamic quality would align with the visual principles of iOS 26, which emphasizes a shimmering, glass-like interface. The notion of a color that shifts hues could enhance the overall user experience, making the device feel more integrated with its software environment.

Leaker’s Track Record and Additional Rumors

Instant Digital has previously provided accurate information regarding Apple products, including the introduction of the Yellow finish for the iPhone 14 and the Titanium Milanese Loop for the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Despite this, the leaker’s reliability is not absolute.

In a related report, Macworld claimed to have obtained an internal document outlining the color options for the entire iPhone 17 lineup. This document reportedly confirms white as an option for all models, including the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. Other colors mentioned in various rumors include a copper-like orange, black, gray, and dark blue.

Adding to the intrigue, another leaker, Majin Bu, shared images of third-party lens covers that supposedly showcase the iPhone 17 colors. Notably, a white color was absent, with a “Transparent” option featured instead. When questioned about this discrepancy, Bu hinted at an additional “surprise” color that Apple is currently testing but provided no further details.

Design Changes and Market Expectations

This year’s design for the iPhone 17 Pro is anticipated to differ from last year’s all-titanium models. Reports suggest that Apple will adopt a hybrid design combining glass and aluminum for the iPhone 17 Pro chassis, potentially allowing for new color options.

Consumers and enthusiasts alike eagerly await the official reveal, expected in September 2024. As Apple prepares to launch the iPhone 17 series, the anticipation surrounding its color variants and overall design continues to grow, promising to captivate the market once again.
