Valley City High School Democrats Launch First Meeting on January 23

The Valley City Area High School Democrats of America (HSDA) is set to hold its inaugural meeting on January 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. The gathering will take place in the Norway Room of the student center at Valley City State University, located at 230 Viking Drive. This meeting aims to establish the chapter and engage in discussions surrounding key policy issues.

Students from Valley City and surrounding areas without a local chapter are encouraged to participate. The meeting will focus on how the HSDA can positively impact the community, offering a platform for high school students interested in political activism. Those keen on organizing protests, assisting political candidates, volunteering, or engaging in social media campaigns are particularly invited.

Empowering the Next Generation

Carter Hass, a senior at Valley City High School and the founder of the local HSDA chapter, emphasized the need for a space where Generation Z can express their views. “It’s important that Gen Z voices have a platform to amplify their concerns and their solvency,” Hass stated. He highlighted the HSDA’s role in fostering peaceful and meaningful civic engagement among youth.

The chapter is dedicated to serving the next generation and ensuring that all students, regardless of their political affiliations, feel welcome to join. “Our generation needs serious unity, and this is the best way to unite,” Hass added. He described the HSDA as an opportunity for young people to express their patriotism through political organizing, stating that it represents “patriotism at its finest.”

Invitation to All Students and Media

All high school students interested in making a difference are encouraged to attend the meeting, which is open to members of the press as well. The Valley City Area HSDA aims to provide a constructive environment for students to discuss their ideas and collaborate on initiatives that can lead to positive change in their communities.

As the first meeting approaches, the excitement among local students is palpable, signaling a commitment to civic engagement and political activism in Valley City. The HSDA is poised to become a vital resource for young voices seeking to influence their future through democratic participation.
