Top NFL Rookies Shine in Week 7 of 2025 Season

The performance of rookies in the National Football League (NFL) continues to captivate fans as the 2025 season progresses. According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), the top rookies through Week 7 have demonstrated impressive skills and significant contributions to their respective teams. These rankings are based on PFF’s overall grading system, which considers players who have logged at least 100 snaps.

Rookie Standouts in Week 7

At the forefront is Nick Emmanwori, a safety for the Seattle Seahawks, who leads with an overall grade of 84.8. Following closely is Mitchell Evans of the Carolina Panthers, achieving a grade of 83.8 as he played a pivotal role in the team’s recent winning streak. Despite a challenging outing in run blocking, where he recorded four negative plays, Evans excelled in receiving, securing all nine of his targets for a total of 90 yards and six first downs. His performance included notable plays against the New York Jets, contributing significantly to his team’s red zone efficiency.

Another rookie making waves is Oronde Gadsden II of the Los Angeles Chargers, who climbed to the seventh position with an overall grade of 75.3. Gadsden showcased his potential by racking up 164 receiving yards from seven receptions against the Indianapolis Colts, including a stunning 53-yard catch. His ability to dominate against zone coverage has earned him recognition, as he leads tight ends in PFF receiving grade against such defenses.

Key Performances and Rising Stars

Other notable rookies include Jihaad Campbell of the Philadelphia Eagles, currently graded at 82.5. Campbell displayed solid defensive skills against the Minnesota Vikings, achieving an impressive 11.8% positively graded play rate in run defense. He continues to be a key component of the Eagles’ defensive lineup, leading all rookies in PFF run-defense grade.

In the running back category, Cam Skattebo of the New York Giants stands out with an overall grade of 80.6. During a matchup against the Denver Broncos, Skattebo rushed for 60 yards on 16 carries and caught three passes for an additional 34 yards, including his first receiving touchdown of the season. His ability to break tackles has been a highlight, as he has forced a total of 20 missed tackles this season.

Another impressive performance came from Quinshon Judkins of the Cleveland Browns, who rebounded from a previous lackluster game to achieve 84 yards and three touchdowns against the Miami Dolphins. His versatility in rushing, including a stunning 46-yard touchdown, has solidified his ranking among the top rookies, tying him with Skattebo for the most rushing touchdowns this season at five.

As the NFL season unfolds, these rookie performances not only enhance their teams’ prospects but also captivate fans eager to witness the future stars of the league. The rankings may shift as the season progresses, especially with the release of grades following Monday Night Football.
