Siena Baseball Unveils Ambitious 2026 Schedule with 52 Games

Siena College’s baseball program has announced its schedule for the 2026 season, featuring a total of 52 games and the most home dates in 18 years. Following a successful revival last season, the Saints aim to build on that momentum under the leadership of Head Coach Alex Jurczynski. The season will kick off with a three-game series against the University of Central Florida in Orlando, starting on February 13 at 18:00. This marks the earliest opening day in the program’s history, matching a previous record set in 2015.

The Saints will face significant competition early in the season, including a three-game set against the highly ranked Wake Forest University, a regular contender in the Atlantic Coast Conference. This matchup will take place from February 20 to 22 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, where Wake Forest is currently ranked 21st in the D1Baseball Preseason Top-25. Siena will also participate in a neutral-site series against the University of Massachusetts from February 27 to March 1 at Ripken Stadium in Aberdeen, Maryland.

Home Games and MAAC Challenges

Siena’s home opener is scheduled for March 6-8, when they host the defending MAAC Tournament champions, Fairfield, at Connors Park. This marks the earliest home opener in program history and begins a 21-game home slate, the most for Siena since 2008. The Saints will face early challenges in the MAAC, including a series against last season’s runner-up, Rider, from March 13 to 15, followed by a home series against Niagara, which won the league title in 2024.

The 2026 season will feature a 30-game league schedule, with Siena competing in three-game weekend series against 10 of the 12 teams in the MAAC. Notable home series include matchups against Mount St. Mary’s (April 2-4), Saint Peter’s (May 1-3), and Iona (May 8-10). The Saints will also engage in road series against rivals such as Marist, Manhattan, Sacred Heart, and Canisius in the latter part of the season.

In addition to their conference schedule, Siena will continue its rivalry with the University at Albany. The two teams are set to split a weekend series from April 17 to 19, with games hosted at both universities. The final game of this series will occur on April 21 at Connors Park.

Road to the Championships

The MAAC Baseball Championships will return to Wappingers Falls, New York, at Heritage Financial Park for the first time in a decade. Set for May 20-23, the tournament will feature the top six teams in the league competing in a double-elimination format.

Siena’s baseball program looks to improve upon a successful previous season, which saw them achieve their highest overall win total in nine years with 22 victories and equaling their highest league win total in 11 years at 17. The Saints are bringing back a strong roster, retaining eight of nine position players from last year while welcoming 11 newcomers, including six freshmen and five transfer players.

With a robust schedule and a talented lineup, Siena baseball is poised for an exciting season ahead.
