Players of League of Legends are facing significant disruptions as global server issues lead to extreme lag, high ping, and frequent disconnections. These technical problems have resulted in many games ending in frustration, prompting players to voice their concerns on social media platforms like Reddit and X (formerly Twitter). The ongoing situation has left the gaming community demanding explanations from Riot Games, the developer behind the popular title.
Reports on the r/leagueoflegends subreddit detail a wave of complaints regarding persistent disconnections and unusually high ping spikes. Players have described scenarios where some teammates struggle with connectivity while others maintain stable connections, leading to uneven gameplay experiences. One frustrated player noted, “My team is full of disconnected members, but the opposing team is okay.” Another player shared that after inquiring with the enemy team, they discovered that both sides were experiencing similar issues during ranked matches.
The disruptions have had tangible consequences for players, with some opting to go AFK (away from keyboard) due to the lag, resulting in forfeits. On X, players expressed their dissatisfaction, with one user, identified as @RhyJadestorm, pleading with Riot to “fix the game.” Another user, @beanut722, posted a video showcasing being stuck mid-match, calling for compensation due to lost rank points stemming from server instability.
Adding to the frustration, moderators on the League subreddit reportedly removed multiple posts regarding the server issues, inciting further anger within the community. Screenshots shared online show numerous deleted grievances, underscoring the extent of the problem and players’ concerns. The lag not only disrupted gameplay but also led to the loss of precious League Points (LP). One player claimed to have lost more than 30 LP after being unable to select a champion and subsequently entering a match where only their team experienced disconnections.
Reports have also emerged from players on the LAN servers, who faced similar disruptions. They reported repeated disconnections during Arena/Brawl matches and encountered errors when attempting to reconnect.
After several hours of escalating complaints from players, Riot Games finally addressed the issue through an update on the League of Legends server status page. The announcement confirmed that the company was aware of the disconnection problems and was investigating the matter. However, as of now, no official timeline for a resolution has been provided.
The community continues to advocate for compensation for lost LP and has expressed the need for clearer communication from Riot Games regarding the server issues. As players await a response, the demand for accountability from the game’s developers remains a focal point of discussion.
