The Miami Dolphins and Washington Commanders are set to clash on Sunday morning in Madrid, marking the NFL’s first regular-season game in the Spanish capital. Scheduled for kickoff at 9:30 a.m. Eastern at Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid, this matchup is the final game in the 2025 international series for the league. As both teams finalize their preparations, they have released their inactive player lists, which will impact their game-day strategies.
Each NFL team is required to reduce their active roster from 53 players to 48 for game day. This includes consideration for any players elevated from the practice squad, who also count against this limit. The Commanders have ruled out key players, including wide receiver Treylon Burks (finger), quarterback Jayden Daniels (left elbow), linebacker Ale Kaho (concussion), and wide receiver Terry McLaurin (quadriceps). On Saturday, tight end Ben Sinnott (ankle) was also downgraded to out. Joining this list are tackles Tret Scott and George Fant. In response, Washington has elevated running back Chase Edmonds and cornerback Tre Hawkins from their practice squad.
On the Dolphins’ side, the inactive list includes quarterback Quinn Ewers, cornerback Rasul Douglas, linebacker Andre Carter, wide receiver Dee Eskridge, and defensive tackle Matthew Butler. Both Eskridge (shoulder) and Douglas (foot/ankle) were listed as questionable in Friday’s injury report. Ewers has been designated as the team’s emergency quarterback, enabling him to play if both starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and backup Zach Wilson sustain injuries during the game. Notably, Miami did not elevate any players from their practice squad for Week 11.
In a positive development for Miami, linebacker Bradley Chubb, who was previously questionable with a foot injury, is active and available for the game. This matchup presents an exciting opportunity for both teams as they look to secure a win in front of a global audience.
