On March 15, 2024, the United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) organization in San Diego held its 43rd Charity Golf Tournament, raising funds to enhance communication for individuals with disabilities. One such individual is Steve Williams, a 60-year-old man diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. Until recently, he faced significant challenges in communication.
“Communication shouldn’t be a luxury,” Sacristan emphasized. “It should be a fundamental right to be heard and understood.” Williams’ journey illustrates this point effectively. “When Williams came in, I was like, we’re gonna get Steve a device, he’s gonna talk everyone’s ear off, and that’s exactly what happened,” Sacristan recounted.

Thanks to the generous donations from supporters of UCP San Diego, Williams received a comprehensive communication package that included an iPad, specialized software, a protective case, and a mount, all provided at no cost to him.
