Morgan County is gearing up for the November 2025 Election, with residents set to vote on a range of local and statewide issues. The ballot will feature candidates for school board positions, city council seats, and municipal questions, alongside statewide measures. To ensure voters are well-informed, Morgan County Clerk and Recorder Kevin Strauch provided essential information regarding voting procedures and important dates.
Ballots for the 2025 Coordinated Election will be mailed to active registered voters in Morgan County beginning on October 10. Election Day is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4, with all ballots required to be received by 19:00 that day. Voters should promptly contact the Election Office at 970-542-3521, Option 5 in case their ballot is lost or damaged.
Residents will have the opportunity to cast their votes on various local matters, including school board races and city council elections in Fort Morgan, Brush, and Wiggins. Voters can return their ballots through multiple options: by mail, at secure drop-off locations, or in person at designated Voter Service and Polling Centers.
For those who have an active registration and correct address, ballots will be mailed out on October 10. If a voter does not receive their ballot, it is crucial to contact the Election Office without delay, as ballots cannot be forwarded. Once received, voters are encouraged to carefully review the candidates and ballot questions before returning them, ensuring they follow all instructions and sign the envelope.
In an effort to accommodate diverse needs, ballots will be available in both English and Spanish. When returning ballots by mail, voters should ensure they send them at least one week before Election Day. Importantly, postmarks do not count; ballots must physically arrive by 19:00 on November 4 to be counted.
Secure, 24-hour drop boxes will be available starting October 10 at three locations: the Morgan County Administration Building at 231 Ensign St. in Fort Morgan, Brush City Hall at 600 Edison St., and Wiggins Town Hall at 304 Central Ave. Additional options include dropping off ballots at the Morgan County Clerk’s Office.
For those who prefer to vote in person, the election will feature only one vote center located at the Clerk’s Office in the County Administrative Building. This center will be open weekdays from October 27 to November 3, from 08:00 to 16:00, and on Saturday, November 1, from 08:00 to 12:00. On Election Day, it will operate from 07:00 to 19:00.
Voters can track their ballots using BallotTrax or GoVoteColorado.gov. BallotTrax offers updates via email, text message, or phone call, notifying voters when their ballot is mailed, received, and accepted for counting. To register to vote, individuals can visit GoVoteColorado.gov, the Clerk’s office, or follow instructions for mail registration. Registration remains open throughout the election period, including on Election Day itself.
Strauch emphasized the significance of these elections, noting, “Coordinated Elections typically have the lowest turnout of any elections. For voters who want to have a say in their community, these local elections are extremely important, as these issues and candidates will have a direct impact on their daily lives.”
For detailed information, including sample ballots, residents are encouraged to visit the Morgan County Elections Department website.
