Glenn R. Miller, a resident of The Highlands in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 15, 2026, at the age of 81. He was the devoted husband of Sally A. (Hunt) Miller, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on May 8, 2025.
Born in Leesport, Glenn was the son of the late Kenneth G. and Beulah A. (Wentzel) Miller. He graduated from Ontelaunee High School in 1962 and subsequently served in the US Army. His professional career spanned 37 years as a representative for Lutheran Brotherhood, now known as Thrivent, before his retirement in 1999.
Glenn’s passion for sports was evident throughout his life. He had a noteworthy stint as a minor league player for the Pittsburgh Pirates and is proud to have achieved two holes-in-one during his golfing career. In addition to his love for baseball and golf, Glenn was committed to his community and church. He served on the church council for the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity in Leesport, held the position of East Berks Mission Lay President for six years, and contributed to various boards, including the Board of Family Life Topton Home and the Berks County Prison Society Board.
Glenn is survived by two sons: Kerry G. Miller, married to Giuseppina and residing in Danbury, Connecticut, and Brian K. Miller, married to Michael McCarthy in Chester Township, New Jersey. He also leaves behind three grandchildren: Peter, Gabriella, and Giuliana. His siblings include Larry D. Miller of Lancaster, Deanna F. (Miller) Barbis of The Highlands, Lynn K. Miller of Monroeville, New Jersey, and Steven K. Miller of Pennsville, New Jersey. Glenn was predeceased by a daughter, Deanna S. Miller, who passed away on November 17, 2017.
Memorial Services Scheduled for Glenn R. Miller
A memorial service to honor Glenn’s life will take place on January 24, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, located at 102 Apple Street, Leesport, PA 19533. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the church. Following the memorial, burial will be private at Laureldale Cemetery.
