The community of Pelham, New Hampshire, is mourning the loss of Roger A. Turgeon, who passed away at the age of 84. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he leaves behind a profound legacy of love and dedication to his family. His wife of over 57 years, Judy B. (Lapointe) Turgeon, survives him, along with their three daughters and beloved grandchildren.
Born on October 19, 1941, in Dover, New Hampshire, Roger was the son of the late Beatrice and Andre Turgeon. He was known for his remarkable work ethic and resilience, often described as “the man with more than nine lives.” This tenacity helped him navigate various challenges throughout his life, demonstrating an unwavering sense of responsibility.
Roger’s commitment to his country was evident during his service in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. He spoke of this experience with gratitude and pride, reflecting his deep sense of duty. After his military service, he graduated from DeVry University, establishing a successful career in digital electronics that spanned over 25 years. He worked at notable companies such as Microwave Associates/MACOM and TYCO, where he earned respect for his reliability and technical skills.
A Pillar of Community and Family Life
Beyond his professional achievements, Roger was an active member of his community and church. He was involved with the Knights of Columbus and regularly attended St. Patrick’s Church in Pelham. His faith was a guiding force in his life, influencing his interactions with others.
Roger enjoyed hands-on activities, finding joy in building and fixing things. He also had a well-known sweet tooth, often indulging in cookies. His love for the water was unmatched; he frequently took his daughters fishing at early hours, cherishing family time at their camp in Eliot, Maine. Clamming held a special place in his heart, and he fondly reminisced about those moments.
As a father and grandfather, Roger was unwaveringly present. He attended every significant event in his daughters’ lives, from dance recitals to sporting events. Known affectionately as “Pepere” to his grandchildren, he continued this legacy of support, cheering for them at their various activities. His commitment to family extended beyond mere presence, as he ensured his daughters were well-versed in the sports they supported.

Roger is survived by his daughters, Christine McManus and her husband Rich of Manchester, New Hampshire; Danielle Patten of Winterville, North Carolina; and Kathleen Albert and her husband Joshua of Pelham. He was a proud grandfather to Ethan Patten, Jacob Albert, Aiden Patten, and Charlotte Albert, who brought him immense joy and happiness. Additionally, he is survived by his siblings, including Janet Scruton of Naples, Florida, and Edmond Turgeon of Bethel, Maine, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Roger will be remembered not only for his contributions to his family and community but also for his selflessness and willingness to help others. His legacy of love, determination, and purpose will resonate with all who knew him.
