William P. Turner, a cherished member of his community, passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 73. He died at his home in Supply, North Carolina, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born in Florence County, Turner was known for his deep connections with those around him and a positive outlook on life.
Turner received his education at schools in Florence County and later attended the University of Memphis, Tennessee. A devoted member of the Baptist faith, he participated actively in the Filipino Christian Community Church located in Florence, South Carolina. Throughout his career, Turner primarily worked in manufacturing, contributing to the local economy.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Isabelita “Lita” Santos, as well as his parents, Peggy O. Turner and Lawton “Jack” Turner, and several siblings, including Phillip Turner, Alice Lee, Jacquelyn “Jackie” Lee, Malcolm Turner, and Bazil “Ted” Turner. He is survived by his siblings, Danny Turner, David Turner, Jacob Turner, and Ginger Larke.
Turner had a profound love for nature, especially bodies of water. Whether at the beach or boating, he found joy in these experiences. His passion for travel allowed him to explore various places, enriching his life and the lives of those around him. Known for his thoughtful demeanor, Turner preferred to listen rather than seek the spotlight. He was a deep thinker, eager to engage in debates and learn from others.
Despite not being a trained singer, he enjoyed expressing himself through song, often bringing humor into conversations. Friends and family remember him for his ability to maintain a positive attitude and rarely complain, even in difficult times.
A graveside service will take place at Florence Memorial Gardens on September 22, 2025, at 1:30 PM, directed by the Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home. In appreciation for the care he received, the family extends gratitude to the Fresenius Dialysis Teams at their locations in Florence and Supply, North Carolina.
