Talbert Calvin Dunn, Jr., 71, passed away on October 29, 2025. A longtime resident of Hampton, Virginia, Dunn dedicated much of his life to his career as a welder, contributing significantly to the local industry.
Born in Morehead City, North Carolina, Dunn moved to Hampton in 1980. He retired from Newport News Shipbuilding in 2007 after an impressive 27 years of service. His expertise and dedication in the field of welding helped shape the careers of many young professionals in the region.
A Cherished Family Man
Throughout his life, Dunn was known not only for his professional achievements but also for his deep commitment to family. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Letty Lou Dunn, along with their two sons: Talbert C. Dunn III and Jason S. Dunn Sr.. Both sons have followed in their father’s footsteps, with Talbert III and Jason Sr. continuing to build their own families.
Talbert C. Dunn III is married to Laura, while Jason S. Dunn Sr. is married to Courtney. Dunn leaves behind five beloved grandchildren: Ruth, Brandon, Daphne, Jason Jr., and Jessica, who brought immense joy to his life.
Community Remembrance
Friends and family will gather to honor Dunn’s memory during a visitation at Berceuse Funeral and Cremation Traditions on November 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Located at 2609 Cunningham Drive, Hampton, the funeral home has been a part of the community for many years.
