Louise A. Clark, a beloved member of the Ulster Park community, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, at the age of 97. Born on December 23, 1927, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Louise Naccarato Altomari. Her life was marked by dedication to family, community, and her career.
Louise was married to the late Frederick H. Clark, who predeceased her on May 30, 2005. Together, they built a family that included three children: Shirley Saccoman and her husband, Thomas R., of Southington, Connecticut; Frederick Clark and his wife, Donna, of Rifton, New York; and Dianna Reynolds and her husband, Bruce, of Shokan, New York. Louise is also survived by one sister, Carol Van Kleeck, and one brother, Michael Altomari, along with six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Career and Community Involvement
Louise had a notable career at IBM, working in Poughkeepsie and Kingston until her retirement in 1985. Before her tenure at IBM, she held positions at Skyline, Sprague Electric, and Hercules. Her contributions to the workforce were significant, reflecting her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Beyond her professional life, Louise was a vibrant member of her community. She attended Presentation Church in Port Ewen and was actively involved with the Town of Esopus Senior Citizens. Her interests included bowling, bingo, and playing cards, activities that brought her joy and fostered connections with others.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Pearson Reynolds, and four sisters: Dolores Cafaldo, Theresa Dachenhausen, Bernice Jurkowski, and Barbara Bruno. Additionally, she was predeceased by two brothers, Angelo (Bobby) Altomari and Joseph Altomari.
Final Arrangements and Legacy
Friends and family will have the opportunity to pay their respects on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 16:00 to 19:00 at the Gilpatric-VanVliet Funeral Home, located at 339 Broadway, Ulster Park, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held the following day, September 25, 2025, at 10:00 at Immaculate Conception Church in Kingston, followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, also in Kingston.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Louise to the Town of Esopus Volunteer Ambulance Squad at P.O. Box 910, Port Ewen, NY 12466, or the Hudson Valley Hospice Foundation at 80 Washington Street, Suite 204, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
