Clarence Howard Anderson, born on January 24, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on October 3, 2025, in Lorain, Ohio. His death marks the loss of a devoted family member and respected community member. Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Marvin Moore Anderson, and his brother, Christopher Alan Anderson.
Clarence’s educational journey began at Charleston Elementary School and Hawthorne Junior High School, culminating in a graduation from Admiral King High School in 1971. He furthered his studies at Lincoln University, earning a Bachelor of Science in History in 1975. His commitment to learning continued throughout his career, as he completed an apprenticeship program as an Electronic Technician at Polaris Career Center in 1999 and later underwent training in CNC Mill and Lathe operations at Lorain County Community College in 2004.
For eight years, Clarence worked at York International in Elyria before dedicating over 20 years to U.S. Steel, where he retired as an Industrial Electrician in June 2025. His professional journey was marked by both dedication and a strong work ethic, reflecting his commitment to his trade and community.
In his personal life, Clarence was an avid reader with a passion for science fiction and history. He cherished movies and valued his time spent with family and friends. A devoted son, he took pride in caring for his mother, Dorothey Jean Anderson, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Clarence was the second of five brothers and is survived by his mother, his siblings Mansur Abdullah, Marvin Moore Anderson, Jr. (“Chip”), Dr. Naeem Abdullah, and Dr. Eric Anderson, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Known for his quiet demeanor and sharp sense of humor, Clarence was a constant source of support for those around him. Family members described him as one of the pillars of their lives, emphasizing that all are better for having known him.
The community is invited to pay their respects at a memorial service scheduled for October 15, 2025. A Family Hour will begin at 10:00 AM, followed by the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM at the Brown-Robinson Funeral Home and Celebration Center, located at 6075 Middle Ridge Road, Lorain, Ohio.
