The annual Homecoming celebration at East Mississippi Community College (EMCC) took place on October 11, 2025, where students were honored for their achievements and contributions. Among the highlights of the event was the crowning of Mr. and Miss EMCC for both the Scooba and Golden Triangle campuses.
Trinton Nash, a resident of Meridian, received the title of Mr. EMCC for the Scooba campus. Nash is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education, focusing on vocal and instrumental studies. His dedication to both his academic and extracurricular activities earned him this prestigious recognition.
Alongside Nash, Kyleigh Moore from Philadelphia was named Miss EMCC for the Scooba campus. Moore is majoring in social sciences and has been actively involved in campus initiatives, showcasing strong leadership qualities that contributed to her selection.
On the Golden Triangle campus, Matthew Davis from Crawford was crowned Mr. EMCC. A sophomore specializing in Precision Machining, Davis exemplifies the skills and commitment that EMCC promotes among its students. His peers recognized his contributions and character during the selection process.
Also recognized during the event was Shakyrah Mullen, who earned the title of Miss EMCC for the Golden Triangle campus. A resident of Columbus, Mullen is majoring in Secondary Education and has been an advocate for student engagement and community service.
The Homecoming ceremony took place on Sullivan-Windham Field, creating a vibrant atmosphere that celebrated student achievements. The event not only highlighted the accomplishments of these individuals but also fostered a sense of community among attendees.
This year’s Homecoming showcased the commitment of EMCC to recognize and support its students, encouraging them to excel academically and socially. With such dedicated individuals representing the college, EMCC continues to build a strong foundation for future leaders.
