Influencer Hong Young Gi Reveals Costs of Post-Pregnancy Beauty

Interest in celebrity pregnancies often extends beyond the arrival of new family members to how these public figures maintain their appearance after childbirth. In a recent YouTube interview, South Korean influencer Hong Young Gi opened up about the substantial financial investment she makes to sustain her post-pregnancy beauty.

Hong, who rose to fame as an “ulzzang,” or “best face,” is known for her youthful looks and has garnered a following for her age-defying beauty as a mother of two. During the interview, she candidly discussed her personal journey through pregnancy and postpartum recovery. Notably, she revealed that she gained approximately 31 kg during her first pregnancy but experienced significant weight loss due to postpartum depression, which affected her appetite.

When asked about her tips for new mothers looking to care for their post-pregnancy bodies, Hong emphasized the importance of facial care. She explained, “After you have a baby, you lose a ton of hair, and your belly gets all flabby, and your face too. Same story. Freckles pop up everywhere.” Her straightforward approach highlighted a reality that many new mothers face but may not openly discuss.

Costs of Beauty Procedures

Hong Young Gi did not shy away from revealing the financial aspect of her beauty regimen. She mentioned that she has undergone various medical procedures, including lifting treatments such as Shrink and Thermage, which she receives “at least once a year.” She disclosed that her total expenditures on these procedures amount to around ₩100 million KRW, equivalent to about $70,900 USD.

Detailing the costs, she noted that the starting price for Thermage is approximately ₩1.00 million KRW (around $709 USD). Furthermore, she shared that she had also undergone a nose revision surgery, which alone cost her ₩10.0 million KRW (approximately $7,090 USD).

Hong’s revelations provide a rare glimpse into the significant effort and financial resources that public figures often allocate to maintain their appearance following childbirth. This candid confession serves to paint a more realistic picture of post-pregnancy upkeep for celebrities.

In addition to her beauty disclosures, Hong recently attracted attention for a controversial admission regarding her first child, which she had at a young age. This revelation has sparked considerable reactions online, further illustrating the complexities of celebrity life.

Hong Young Gi’s willingness to share her personal experiences may encourage dialogue among new mothers and provide insight into the pressures faced by influencers in maintaining their public image.
