Immerse Yourself in Sound at New Fort Worth Exhibition

An exciting new exhibition titled “The Art of Listening” will open at the Tubman Gallery in east Fort Worth on November 28, 2025, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to engage with sound in a multifaceted way. The exhibition will feature live performances, archival music, and art programming that collectively explore the various dimensions of audio experience.

The opening reception will commence at 6 p.m. and will include performances by renowned New Orleans-based musician ÌFÉ, known for their distinctive blend of Afro-Cuban folklore and contemporary Jamaican dancehall. Other artists participating in the event include Minister Leo Vaughns Jr. and Set De Flo. This innovative exhibition runs through January 16, 2026, making it a must-see for art and music enthusiasts.

In addition to the exhibition, the annual Parade of Lights is set to illuminate downtown Fort Worth on November 30 at 6 p.m.. The parade was originally postponed due to severe weather conditions, but it promises to be a vibrant celebration of the holiday season. Reporters will be on hand to cover the festivities for the following day’s edition.

The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is also transforming into a winter wonderland with its Christmas in the Garden event, which features dazzling light installations. Visitors can experience the interactive Musical Swings installation, available until December 7. This engaging activity allows guests to create music simply by swinging. The garden will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with admission prices ranging from $22 to $58 for Christmas in the Garden and $6 to $12 for the Musical Swings.

Families can enjoy a special holiday concert titled Polar Express: Holiday Concert, featuring narration and illustrations from Chris Van Allsburg’s beloved book. The event will take place at the Fort Worth Stockyards Station on November 29 and 30, with ticket prices between $20 and $75. This concert will also include activities such as an ice rink and photo opportunities with Santa Claus.

For those looking to reminisce about the music of the 1990s, the ’90s R&B Fest will showcase popular contemporary R&B groups including Dru Hill, Kut Klose, Michel’le, Changing Faces, and Shai on November 29 at Texas Hall at UT Arlington. Attendees are encouraged to wear all white for this evening event, which runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. and has a ticket price of $70.

On November 30, a national initiative known as Artists Sunday will encourage the public to support local artists. Twelve local art galleries and museums, including Art on the Boulevard, Gallery at Bowie House, and SiNaCa Studios, will participate in this event, which will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, making it an excellent opportunity to support the local arts community.

With a variety of events lined up, this weekend promises to offer something for everyone in Fort Worth. Whether you are drawn to the immersive experience of sound or the festive atmosphere of holiday celebrations, there are ample opportunities to engage with the vibrant cultural scene in the area.
