Hollister Celebrates 25 Years with Nostalgic Y2K Capsule Collection

Hollister has marked its 25th anniversary by launching a limited-edition Y2K capsule collection, reviving some of its most iconic styles from the early 2000s. The decision comes in response to a resurgence of interest in these archived designs, particularly on resale platforms like TikTok and Instagram, where vintage styles have become increasingly popular among younger consumers.

The capsule features a total of 38 pieces, with 22 styles for women and 16 for men. Women’s items include a variety of tops, dresses, hoodies, and shorts, priced between $14.95 and $49.95. Men’s offerings range from $24.95 to $59.95, with sizing options available from XS to XXL. The collection aims to make nostalgic fashion accessible without the hefty price tag often associated with vintage clothing.

“To celebrate our history, we wanted to bring back the styles that put Hollister on the map 25 years ago,” said Kelly Hall, Senior Vice President of Merchandising & Design. “We’re excited to see how customers style these pieces today, years after their original debut.”

Among the standout items is the Tie-Back Henley Babydoll Top, a style reminiscent of outfits worn in popular television shows like Pretty Little Liars and The L Word. The top is available in three colors—Navy Blue, Heather Gray, and Rose—retailing at $29.95. Its design captures the essence of early 2000s fashion, featuring long sleeves and a feminine flared hem.

The collection also includes the Strapless Tie Waist Babydoll Top, offering a more relaxed, beach-inspired aesthetic for $24.95.

For men, the Waffle-Lined Newport Beach Graphic Zip-Up Hoodie stands out, evoking memories of back-to-school shopping in high school. Priced at $59.95, this hoodie comes in both a distressed Washed Navy and light heather gray, featuring a hood, drawstrings, and front pockets.

The Button-Through Icon Shirt, available in navy blue plaid and retailing for $39.95, is another highlight. This plaid shirt became a pop-culture staple in the 2000s, frequently seen in shows like Zoey 101. It features quarter-length sleeves and the brand’s signature seagull logo on the breast pocket.

The High-Rise Medium Wash Flare Jeans, priced at $29, tap into the 2000s trend of fitted, boot-cut styles. These jeans are designed to be worn with a lacy cami for a complete throwback look. The men’s Hermosa Dark Wash Relaxed Bootcut Jeans, priced at $59.95, offer a similarly carefree style.

The Y2K capsule collection is more than just a tribute to Hollister’s past; it reflects broader trends in fashion where nostalgia plays a crucial role in consumer choices. As brands continue to adapt to changing tastes, this collection serves as a reminder of the cyclical nature of fashion. By reintroducing these classic styles, Hollister not only celebrates its history but also connects with a new generation eager to embrace vintage aesthetics.
