The Dorchester Garden Club hosted its annual picnic and awards ceremony in June 2023, held at the residence of club member Ciindy Burns in Cambridge. This event marked a celebration of the club’s achievements and its members’ contributions to promoting gardening and horticulture within the community.
During the ceremony, the club presented its esteemed Perennial Bloom Award to Patti Hopkins in recognition of her outstanding dedication to the club’s objectives. Her efforts have been instrumental in fostering growth and engagement among the members, making her a deserving recipient of this prestigious honor.
In addition to the Perennial Bloom Award, Hopkins also secured the top position in the Division I Horticultural Competition, earning the coveted Lednum Cup. This accolade reflects her exceptional skills and commitment to horticulture, setting a high standard for fellow competitors.
The awards did not end there. Mari Stanley was recognized for her creativity and design prowess, winning 1st place in the Division II Top Design Competition, which awarded the Tawes Bowl. Stanley’s innovative designs were celebrated for their artistic flair and ability to inspire others in the gardening community.
