Nancy Ann Kogut, aged 71, passed away on March 1, 2026, at the HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston. Born on December 10, 1954, in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late John and Myrtle (Ahrens) Kelly. Nancy’s death comes just months after the loss of her devoted husband, Michael S. Kogut, adding to the profound sorrow felt by her family and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her four brothers: John Kelly Jr., Robert Kelly, Thomas Kelly, and William Kelly. She is survived by her loving children: Kelli Kogut of Saugerties, Wendy (Daniel) Kogut-Doyle of Pennsylvania, April (Tony Gambino) Kogut of Saugerties, and Michael Kogut Jr. of Saugerties. Her brother, Ronald “Smokey” Woods, recalls fond memories that they shared throughout their lives.

Nancy’s legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who carry her memory in their hearts. Known for her deep love of animals, Nancy found happiness in the companionship of her cats and enjoyed horseback riding with her beloved horse. Her passion for community was evident as she frequently attended the Elks Club, where she relished the camaraderie and thrill of a good game of BINGO.
Family time held a special place in Nancy’s heart. She treasured camping trips at Whip-O-Will Campground, creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Her warmth and zest for life will be remembered by all who knew her.
Funeral Arrangements and Memorial Contributions
The funeral service for Nancy will take place at 10 AM on Tuesday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home Inc. Visitation is scheduled for 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM on Monday. Following the service, she will be interred beside her husband in the Katsbaan Cemetery.
