Eunice Carol Meyer, a beloved member of the Worthington community, passed away at the age of 86 on October 15, 2025, at The Shores in Worthington, Minnesota. Her family and friends remember her as a kind and joyful person who touched many lives.
Born on April 16, 1939, Eunice was the daughter of Rudolph and Lilly Kasch. She graduated from Worthington Senior High School in 1957. Shortly thereafter, she married James M. Meyer on June 19, 1960, in Round Lake, Minnesota. The couple settled in the Worthington area, where they raised their son, Jason.
Eunice worked at the Campbell Soup Company in Worthington for eleven years. Following her tenure there, she became a dedicated stay-at-home mother, focusing on family life. The family lived on a farm south of Worthington until Eunice later transitioned back to the city, where she took a position at Fashion Bug. Her commitment to the community extended beyond her professional life; she was an active volunteer for organizations such as TAC and Relay for Life.
In 2019, Eunice moved to Ecumen Meadows, where she formed many new friendships. She had a passion for crafts, puzzles, reading, and music. Those who knew her described her as a “ray of sunshine,” highlighting her infectious smile and laughter that could brighten any room. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Eunice is survived by her son, Jason (Gyan); her sister, Janet Kasch Weeks of Phoenix, Arizona; her brothers, Russell Kasch (Karen) of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Myron Kasch of Eagan, Minnesota; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, Lilly and Rudolph Kasch; her brother, Lynn Kasch; sister-in-law Jeanette Kasch; and brother-in-law Earl Weeks.
Funeral services were conducted on October 21, 2025, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. Eunice was laid to rest at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Benson Funeral Home, ensuring a dignified farewell for a cherished member of the community.
