Community Mourns the Passing of Beloved Guilderland Resident

Charlotte M. Seim, a cherished member of the Guilderland community, passed away on November 11, 2025, at the age of 89. She was the widow of the late William R. Seim and was known for her vibrant spirit and dedication to family and friends. Born on February 26, 1936, Charlotte was the daughter of the late Clyde and Jennie (Travis) Woodard.

Charlotte devoted a significant portion of her life to her career at Travelers Insurance Company, where she formed lasting connections, including with her husband, William. Throughout her life, she was characterized by her love for family and her passion for activities such as walking, shopping, and attending craft fairs.

Community Engagement and Legacy

In addition to her love for family, Charlotte was an active participant in her local Baptist community. She was well-known for her uplifting sense of humor and frequently visited with other residents, becoming a comforting presence in the lives of those around her. Charlotte passionately engaged in various crafts and activities, making the most of her time and the people she interacted with.

Charlotte leaves behind her children: Donna (Ronald) Healt, William (Debra) Eggleston III, Richard (Cheryl) Eggleston, Michael (Rose) Eggleston, and Guy (Susan Jacobson) Eggleston. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Honoring Charlotte’s Memory

In addition to her parents and husband William, Charlotte was predeceased by her first husband, William Eggleston Jr., her grandson Ryan Healt, her four sisters, and her brother. The family expressed their profound gratitude to the staff at Baptist Health and Community Hospice, particularly Brittany and her team, for their compassionate care during Charlotte’s final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial contributions to be made in Charlotte’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Donations can be made by visiting www.alzfdn.org/donate.

Visitation will take place on November 19, 2025, from 17:00 to 19:00 at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, NY 12205. A funeral service will be held the following day, November 20, beginning at 11:00 after a return to the funeral home at 10:00. Following the service, interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Guilderland.

Charlotte M. Seim will be remembered not only for her unwavering love for her family but also for the warmth and joy she brought to her community. Her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched.
