Community Mourns the Loss of Donnie Lynn Fudge, 70

Donnie Lynn Fudge, a cherished member of the Sumterville community, passed away at the age of 70 on January 14, 2026. His death marks the loss of a loving individual known for his dedication to family, friends, and his work at the Sumter County Cattle Market.

Born on March 9, 1955, in Bushnell, Florida, Donnie was the son of Clifton and Lorene Fudge. Throughout his life, he was recognized for his caring nature and commitment to those around him. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing baseball, showcasing a passion for sports that resonated with many in his local community.

A proud veteran, Mr. Fudge served in the US Army, demonstrating his dedication to his country. His service left a lasting impact on those who knew him, and he will be remembered not only for his military contributions but also for his kindness and generosity.

Donnie is survived by a number of family members, including his sister-in-law, Sally Fudge, and six nieces: Karen Fudge Parker, Kim Fudge Marshall, Kay Fudge Adkins, Deanna Collins, Pam Leigh Fudge, and Lisa Wright. His nephews, Jimmy Fudge, Dion Knight, Dolan Knight, and Freddie Fudge, also carry on his legacy.

Plans for a memorial service are underway, with a gathering to be held at the Florida National Cemetery at a later date. Community members are expected to come together to celebrate Donnie’s life and the many ways he touched the lives of others.

As the community reflects on the life of Donnie Lynn Fudge, his contributions and the love he shared will be fondly remembered.
