Anna Marie Walls, a beloved member of the Morgantown community, passed away on October 9, 2025, at the age of 95 in Mon General Hospital. Born on March 24, 1930, to Martin and Mary Hidock Marhefka, she dedicated much of her life to serving her community and family.
Throughout her career, Anna worked as a cashier at the Book Exchange and OJ Morrison’s, where she became known for her warmth and dedication. Her contributions extended beyond her professional life as she was a deeply cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Anna is survived by her husband, Hoye Walls Jr., with whom she shared an enduring partnership of 71 years. She is also mourned by her daughters, Debbie Rosati and Linda Walls, both residing in Florida, and her son, Hoye “Andy” Walls (Terri) of Masontown. Anna’s legacy continues through her grandchildren, Meghan Buck, Brittany DeMent, and Tim Rosati, along with her four great-grandchildren.
The family reflects on the profound loss of Anna, who was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Gregurick, and three brothers, John, Frank, and Joseph Marhefka. Her life was marked by love, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those around her.
Final Farewell Arrangements
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the McCulla Funeral Home, located at 770 Fairmont Road in Westover. Visitation will take place on Monday, October 13, from 4 to 8 p.m. It will continue the following day, Tuesday, October 14, from 10 a.m. until the funeral service, which begins at 11 a.m. The service will be officiated by Father Gary Naegele.
After the service, Anna will be entombed at St. Mary’s Peace Mausoleum, where family and friends can reflect on her life and legacy.
