Evelyn Marie (Dammer) Halvorson, aged 81, passed away on October 22, 2025, in Duluth, Minnesota. Known for her generous spirit and warm nature, she leaves behind a legacy of love and community ties. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, profoundly impacting those around her.
Born to Melvin and Viola Dammer, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, David Halvorson Jr., and their children: Ernest “Ernie” Halvorson (Hollie) from St. Cloud; Kimberly Neigum (Darcy) from Bismarck, North Dakota; Brenda Gamache (Dan) from New Richmond, Wisconsin; and Bonnie Lou Goebel (Z) from Duluth, Minnesota. Evelyn was also a proud grandmother to Emma Neigum and Aaron Neigum (Myriah), further enriching her family ties.
Evelyn’s siblings, Edward (Sandra), Merlyn (Carol), Harvey (Lorene), Charlie (Kerry), Wesley (Cindy), and Susie, remember her as a loving sister, who brought joy and laughter to their lives.
Visitation and Celebration of Life
A visitation will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Sunrise Funeral Home, located at 4798 Miller Trunk Highway. This will be followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM and a reception to honor Evelyn’s memory.
