Cheer on the Orange: Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day on Sept. 6

Syracuse University is set to host its annual Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day on September 6, 2023, at the JMA Wireless Dome. The event coincides with the home opener of the Orange football team, which will face off against the University of Connecticut at noon. This celebration honors the dedication of faculty and staff who contribute to the university’s success.

Discounted tickets are available for faculty, staff, and their guests, with pricing structured as follows: Level G tickets are priced at $21.51, Level F tickets at $26.82, and Level D tickets at $42.72. These tickets can be purchased online until September 5 at 11:59 p.m.. Additionally, the day is also recognized as Military Appreciation Day, honoring the service of military veterans and active-duty personnel. Faculty and staff who are active military members or veterans may opt for a discounted ticket but cannot combine this with other discounts.

Pre-Game Activities and Benefits

The festivities will kick off early, beginning at 9 a.m. on the Kenneth A. Shaw Quadrangle. Attendees can enjoy live performances by the Pride of the Orange Marching Band, interact with the university’s mascot, Otto the Orange, and indulge in food and beverages from various concessions.

As an added incentive, the first 400 faculty and staff members who visit the Faculty and Staff Appreciation tent on the Quad with a Syracuse University ID will receive a game day gift and a $5 concession coupon.

Those purchasing tickets by September 1 will be entered into a drawing for upgraded seating, the opportunity to participate in the on-field fan tunnel, or enhanced concession vouchers. Winners will be notified before game day, ensuring an exciting experience for attendees.

Additional Perks and Parking Information

Faculty and staff can also benefit from a 20% discount on up to four season tickets for the football season. For more information or to request a call from a sales representative, interested individuals can complete the interest form available through the university’s channels.

Parking for the event will be facilitated at the Skytop lot, with university parking permits honored for free game day parking. Those without a permit can obtain a complimentary one-time-use Skytop pass from the Office of Human Resources between August 25 and September 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.. To acquire this pass, faculty and staff must present their Syracuse University ID and proof of game ticket.

For any questions, the HR Service Center can be reached at 315.443.4042 or via email at [email protected]. Additionally, inquiries about tickets can be directed to the JMA Wireless Dome Box Office at 315.443.2121 or [email protected].

Syracuse University encourages all faculty and staff to participate in this special day, making it a memorable occasion at the Dome.
