Golden State Dermatology Acquires LAskinMD to Expand Services

Gene Rubinstein, MD, FAAD

Golden State Dermatology (GSD) has announced a strategic expansion into the Greater Los Angeles area through the acquisition of LAskinMD, a dermatology practice led by Dr. Gene Rubinstein. This acquisition includes two locations, one at 3959 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Studio City, CA, and the other at 135 Macaw Ln., Simi Valley, CA. The partnership aims to enhance patient access to a diverse range of dermatological services in these communities.

Dr. Rubinstein, a board-certified dermatologist, and his team provide comprehensive care that encompasses medical, surgical, and aesthetic dermatology. Among the services offered at the Studio City location is a dedicated Laser Center featuring over 200 laser modalities. Treatments include injectables, laser resurfacing, hair removal, skin tightening, and fat reduction, making it a sought-after destination for cosmetic dermatology.

“My longstanding commitment has been to deliver safe, effective, and state-of-the-art treatments to my patients,” Dr. Rubinstein stated. “Following thorough evaluation, I have chosen to join a network that reflects my unwavering dedication to excellence in patient care. I am pleased to begin this new chapter with GSD.”

GSD currently boasts over 125 providers and operates 41 locations throughout California. The organization accepts most forms of insurance, further enhancing its accessibility to patients. Ed Becker, MD, founder of GSD, emphasized the organization’s mission, stating, “Our priority is to support our clinicians and enable them to deliver exceptional, patient-focused care throughout the communities we serve.”

Strengthening Community Healthcare

The acquisition occurs within a broader trend of consolidation in the healthcare sector, where GSD seeks to maintain a relatively independent practice model. This approach allows the organization to focus on delivering high-quality care while fostering strong relationships with patients and providers alike.

GSD’s services extend beyond dermatology to include Mohs surgery, radiation therapy, pathology, and plastic surgery. The organization is actively looking to partner with leading dermatology clinics and practitioners to further its goal of becoming the premier network of comprehensive dermatology services in the Western United States.

This acquisition not only strengthens GSD’s presence in the region but also reflects a commitment to enhancing patient care standards. By integrating Dr. Rubinstein’s practice, GSD aims to provide even more comprehensive and innovative dermatological solutions to the communities it serves.
