Julie Fiesel, a cherished wife and mother, passed away peacefully at her home on September 15 after a ten-year struggle with dementia. She leaves behind her husband, Doug Fiesel, her two sons, Chase Fiesel of Minneapolis and Paul Fiesel of St. Paul, as well as many friends and relatives who will remember her fondly.
A Life of Dedication and Service
Born on September 6, 1960, in New Hope, Julie Fiesel graduated from Cooper High School before pursuing a B.A. in Communications at Bethel College. It was there that she met her husband, Doug. Julie spent nearly a decade at IBM in Chicago, where she excelled in her role as a manager.
Her passion for politics and her innate ability to connect with people led her to serve as a congressional aide to former Congressman Gil Gutknecht. Additionally, she held the position of Director of Government Affairs at the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce. Julie’s dedication to her community and her love for public service were defining aspects of her life.
Community Impact and Legacy
Julie Fiesel will be remembered not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her deep faith and unwavering love for her family. Her friends recall her warmth and her ability to make connections with everyone she encountered.
A funeral service is scheduled for September 25 at 11:00 AM at the Buffalo Covenant Church, with a visitation taking place an hour prior. The community is invited to gather and celebrate Julie’s life and legacy during this time of mourning.
