Community Mourns the Loss of Lynn Mary Ragozzino at 65

Lynn Mary Ragozzino, a lifelong resident of Schenectady, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2025, at the age of 65, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her family and friends remember her as a compassionate individual who dedicated her life to helping others, both through her work and personal relationships.

Born on August 27, 1960, to the late Michael and Carmela Ruggiero Ragozzino, Lynn graduated from Linton High School. Throughout her career, she worked as a painter and a caregiver before retiring in 2020. A devoted member of her community, she was also a parishioner of St. Anthony’s Church in Schenectady.

Lynn is survived by her brother, Michael Ragozzino (Julie), and her niece and nephew, Rachael and Andrew (Alexa) Ragozzino. She will also be missed by her great nephews, Rhett and AJ Ragozzino, and her loyal companion, Gianna, who remained by her side throughout her illness. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her partner, Susan Secor.

Gratitude was expressed by Lynn’s family towards the staff at NYOH and the hospice team for their care and support during this difficult time. They also acknowledged the significant love and assistance from friends and family.

Memorial Service Details

Lynn has been privately cremated, and memorial calling hours will take place on September 16th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home, located at 1605 Helderberg Ave, Rotterdam. A memorial service will follow at 12 p.m., after which she will be interred at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Schenectady.

In memory of Lynn, the family requests that donations be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, located at 3 Oakland Ave, Menands, NY 12204, in lieu of flowers. Condolences can be posted at demarcostonefuneralhome.com.

Lynn Ragozzino’s legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to resonate within the community and among all who knew her.
