Community Mourns Nicholas A. Krallis, 64, After Courageous ALS Battle

Nicholas A. Krallis, a beloved member of the Reading community, passed away on September 7, 2025, after a courageous three-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was 64 years old and died at Reading Hospital, surrounded by family and friends who had supported him throughout his illness.

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, Nick was the son of Maria Vougamalis and the late Anthony G. Krallis. A proud alumnus of Reading High School, he graduated in 1979 before earning a degree in Economics from Millersville University in 1983. His career spanned more than four decades with White Star Tours, where he cherished building relationships with customers and colleagues alike.

Nick’s passion for all things Philadelphia was evident in his unwavering support for the city’s sports teams, including the Phillies and the Eagles. His commitment to his church, faith, and family was equally profound. A music enthusiast and an avid traveler, Nick’s magnetic personality drew people to him, and he found immense joy in spending time with friends and loved ones.

Legacy of Service and Generosity

Nick’s legacy extends beyond his personal interests; he was a dedicated organ donor, positively impacting the lives of at least three individuals in need. In addition to his mother, Nick is survived by his brother, George A. Krallis, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. His family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and contributions to the community.

Services will be held on September 11, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, located at 1001 East Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611. As an active member of the church, Nick’s faith played an integral role in his life. Burial will follow at Charles Evans Cemetery. A viewing for family and friends is scheduled from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Sts. Constantine and Helen Church or to ALS United Mid Atlantic, located at 1015 Virginia Dr., Suite 110, Fort Washington, PA 19034. The Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc. in West Reading is honored to assist the Krallis family during this difficult time. Condolences may be expressed online at kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
