Chris Kreider Reflects on Trade to Anaheim Ducks

ANAHEIM, CA – Chris Kreider, a seasoned NHL player, recently opened up about his trade to the Anaheim Ducks and his aspirations for the future. Kreider, who waived his no-trade clause to join Anaheim, believes his best hockey is yet to come.

Immediate Impact of the Trade

Kreider’s move to Anaheim marks a significant shift in his career. Despite dealing with injuries in recent years, he remains optimistic about his performance. “I feel like my best hockey’s ahead of me,” Kreider shared, emphasizing his determination to arrive at training camp in peak condition.

Waiving the No-Trade Clause

When approached about the trade, Kreider saw an opportunity with the Ducks. “I think it’s a great fit,” he said, highlighting the team’s blend of talent, youth, and experience. The presence of Coach Joel Quenneville and familiar teammates also influenced his decision.

Emotional Departure from New York

Leaving New York was an emotional journey for Kreider, who expressed gratitude for his experiences there. “I’ve gone through the spectrum – anger, sadness, grief – but keep arriving at gratitude,” he reflected, cherishing the relationships and memories formed during his time with the Rangers.

Health and Recovery

Despite past injuries, Kreider is confident in his current health. “I feel good,” he stated, crediting his recovery to working with renowned strength and conditioning coach Ben Prentice. Kreider is focused on improving his strength and mobility to ensure a successful season.

Role in Anaheim’s Strategy

Kreider is eager to contribute to the Ducks’ power play and penalty kill. “I’ve primarily played as a net front guy in the power play,” he noted, expressing his readiness to leverage his strengths for the team. His familiarity with some of the Ducks’ players adds to his enthusiasm.

Building Chemistry with Teammates

Having already connected with players like Trevor Zegras and Mason McTavish, Kreider is excited about the team’s potential. “It’s incredible center depth,” he remarked, praising the talent and energy within the roster.

Looking Ahead

As Kreider integrates into the Ducks’ lineup, he remains focused on winning games and making a playoff push. “You’re never going to have more fun than when you’re winning hockey games,” he asserted, aiming to bring his experience and skills to the team’s efforts.

With the season approaching, Kreider’s transition to Anaheim represents a new chapter filled with promise and opportunity. His commitment to contributing positively to the team’s success underscores his dedication to the sport and his new team.
