USC Thornton School of Music Unveils 2025-26 Signature Series

The University of South Carolina’s Thornton School of Music has announced its highly anticipated 2025-26 Signature Series, featuring an array of classical vocal performances. The series highlights several renowned ensembles and conductors, ensuring a rich cultural experience for audiences.

October 24, 2025, marks the opening event where the USC Thornton Chamber Singers and USC Thornton Concert Choir will perform a choral program under the leadership of esteemed conductors Cristian Grases, Romans Vanags, and Tram Sparks. This event promises to showcase the exceptional talent of the school’s vocal programs.

On November 7, 2025, the spotlight shifts to the USC Thornton Oriana Choir and the USC Gospel Choir, with performances led by Emily Sung and Marcus Desir, respectively. This concert will explore diverse musical styles and traditions, further enriching the series.

The fall semester concludes with a collaborative opera production featuring the USC Thornton Opera and USC Thornton Symphony. Scheduled for November 19, 21, & 23, 2025, this production will highlight the school’s commitment to opera and symphonic performance.

As the calendar turns to December, the Chamber Music Festival will take the stage on December 2, 2025, presenting a selection of vocal arts that promises to captivate audiences with its intimate and engaging performances.

Spring brings another opera production from the USC Thornton Opera and USC Thornton Symphony, with performances on April 21 & 23, 2026. This event aims to further demonstrate the school’s artistic excellence and dedication to opera.

In an exciting finale, the USC Thornton Chamber Singers will perform works by prominent composers including Pärt, Matsushita, Woo, Ešenvalds, Gyöngyösi, Uusberg, and Argento on April 22, 2026, under the baton of Cristian Grases.
